Lonban Cottage Self Catering Accommodation

Lonban Cottage is a relatively new three bedroom house, purpose built for holidays on the Isle of Coll. It offers generous, comfortable accommodation over two floors and can comfortably sleep parties of six.

On the ground floor you will find a well equipped kitchen, with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine and small freezer. The generous sitting room with woodburning stove, shower room and a twin bedroom are also downstairs.

Upstairs, Lonban Cottage has a family bathroom and two further bedrooms, a double and a twin with expansive views over Coll’s wild landscape.

Arriving at Lonban Cottage

Lonban Cottage is usually booked from Saturday to Saturday but that is flexible. Bookings can be made on other days of the week but the minimum booking period is three days. The cottage will be available from 12 noon on the day of your arrival. The house is situated about five miles from Arinagour, down a farm track, which you turn on to just before Coll Airport (don’t worry about excessive noise, the plane only lands a few times a week!).

Leaving Lonban Cottage

After a thoroughly relaxing holiday on the Isle of Coll, the time will inevitably come when it is somebody else’s turn to enjoy Lonban Cottage… Please leave it as you found it. Pete does a fantastic job on the changeovers but he only has a short window before the next guests arrive. It is important that you kindly vacate the house by 10am so Pete can get the house ready for the next party.

You may have a couple of hours to kill before your ferry departs but there is plenty to see and do in Arinagour… The Coll Hotel does a fantastic brunch at the weekends from 10am to 1pm and the Island Cafe is open for tea and coffee. There is also a Saturday market in the summer months at An Cridhe, Coll’s community centre where you can grab a last minute souvenir.

Pricing for 2017

Low Season (1 Jan to 28 May & 3 Sept to 31 Dec) £500 per week
Mid Season (28 May to 25 June) £650 per week
High Season (25 June to 3 September) £750 per week

Linen

However, Tigh na Mara Guesthouse in Arinagour can provide linen, you can call 01879 230354 or email enquiries@tighnamara.info to book and collect the linen on the way to the house. Tigh na Mara is the first building you come to, after driving off the ferry. Pete McKay, who takes care of the changeovers can also organise linen for you, please email Pete to make arrangements.

Are you looking to accommodate more than six?

Our other holiday home on the Isle of Coll, Tigh na Craig House is just two minutes walk away from Lonban Cottage. We can accommodate parties of 12 if you book both cottages.

Good to know…

The ferries to Coll get booked up very quickly during the summer months. It is strongly advised to book your car onto the ferry well in advance of your visit.

If you are not planning on bringing a vehicle, Coll is ideal for cycling… You can either bring your own bike on the ferry or hire bikes from the Post Office.

Please ensure that you leave gates on Coll as you found them. It is important that you keep the gates to Lonban Cottage shut to keep livestock out.
